MOUSSEM STAGES 2024 marks the second edition of this annual event, serving as a crucial platform for showcasing work from Moussem's residency programs.
The event highlights the rich palette of artistic expressions emerging from Moussem’s diverse organizational forms and working methods, while offering a deep reflection on the creative processes developed within the residencies.
Residency programs are at the core of Moussem. During these residencies, whether short- or long-term, artists receive intensive support at every stage of their creative process. Whether they are in the early stages of their work or refining it further, MOUSSEM STAGES provides a unique opportunity to gain in-depth insight into the work of the residents. It’s a chance to discover how artistic ideas develop, grow, and flourish in this stimulating environment.
From October 7th to 12th, MOUSSEM STAGES presents a diverse program of performances, literary dialogues, film screenings, and installations. The program not only reflects on the international exhibition project Moussem Belgica in Tangier but also looks forward to the upcoming project Congo-Arab through the documentary Kasongo (Im)Material. Additionally, we showcase the work of Egyptian dance duo nasa4nasa and local residents Alix Konadu and Marah Haj Hussein. These projects offer critical reflections on both local and global contexts, providing an in-depth exploration of the various artistic and cultural dialogues that connect them.
