Kinan Azmeh has been touring the world as soloist, composer and improviser. As soloist, he has appeared with the New York Philharmonic, the Bavarian Radio Orchestra, the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra, the Qatar Philharmonic and the Syrian Symphony Orchestra, among others. Kinan is also a member of Yo-Yo Ma’s Silk Road Ensemble with whom he was awarded a Grammy in 2017. He is a graduate of New York’s Juilliard School, the Damascus High Institute of Music and he earned his doctorate degree in music from the City University of New York.
In collaboration with BOZAR, Moussem presented the collaboration between his ensemble HEWAR and the Orchestre Royal de Chambre de la Wallonie in 2017. During Moussem Cities Damascus Kinan curated the concert evening 'Seven Syrian composers' and composed live music for the silent film 'Under Damascus Skies', which he performed live with Kyle Sanna.
