Narratives are a human tool that are used both to build a sense of identity and to help us remember the things that matter. How do we relate to narratives? How do they affect us and how do we affect them? Why are some societies sensitive to certain stories and others not? Naghmeh Manavi delves into the notions of memory, identity and power dynamics in human relations as well as into hidden forms of oppression. Her creative explorations draw inspiration from diverse fields, including neuroscience, politics and narratology. In her work, Manavi embraces the format of the lecture-performance. For MOUSSEM STAGES, she will create a video performance which is the final step in an artistic trajectory leading up to the performance But, will I remember?
