Moussem supports composer and multi-instrumentalist Othman El Kheloufi from 2019 onwards in the development of his musical course and accompanies From Bendir to Sendir, his master-apprentice track for passing on craftsmanship, within the framework of a scholarship of the Flemish community. For the next 2 years, Othman will embark on the trajectory 'From Bendir to Sendir' with students Mona Abdel Wahab, Anse Kuyl and Marie Cocriamont. Through intensive training and guidance, musical interaction and working visits to Morocco, the pupils will be immersed in traditional Moroccan music and its instruments, in synergy with the contemporary musical context. The course is rounded off with a musical creation.

Joint visit and workshop 'History and musical motives of the Gnawa genre' as part of the Gnawa Festival at De Centrale in Ghent.
January 2020
Study trip to Morocco. In Rabat, Salé and Khmiset the pupils are immersed in Moroccan music culture:
- Work sessions on the varied instruments (suisdi, guembri, tambur, flute,...).
- work sessions on the maqams and various Chaabi rhythms
-work sessions around the 'Malhun', the urban Moroccan sung poetry
-work sessions around the different Moroccan rhythms: balady, malfouf, chaabi, filali, btaïh
- improvisation sessions and recordings with local musicians
- Gnawa Workshop
- attending chaabi, Rai and Gnawa concerts
- Meetings with local musicians, instrument builders, specialists in traditional music styles and concert organisers.
- introduction to the wider Moroccan culture through walks, visits to brotherhoods, medinas and souks, attendance at street performances and cabaret performances.
February 2020
- meeting in Brussels on the collected material of the study trip
- masterclass by Othman El Kheloufi at the conservatory of Antwerp on the different Moroccan music traditions.
- work sessions on Chaabi rhythms and vocal techniques
- listening sessions on the history of Moroccan music
April 2021
Othman El Kheloufi starts a master class and rehearsals in Agadir. The students can attend these online.
August 2021
The students travel to Rabat for a week, where they work on a composition together with Othman El Kheloufi. The final result is recorded with professional audio equipment at the end of the week.
