"If young oriental musicians are now rediscovering the oud, it is to a large degree thanks to Brahem" - The Herald Tribune
The world of Anouar Brahem, absolute master of the oud, is a coming together of refined Western chamber music, free jazz, and rich Arabic traditions. He has been performing his impressionistic melodies and subtle improvisations for several decades live on stages worldwide and recording them on the famed ECM label. With this new project, the Tunisian composer turns resolutely in the direction of jazz as he explores the expressive freedom of the genre. To do so, he has assembled a new group of virtuoso musicians with Dave Holland on double bass, Jack DeJohnette on drums and Django Bates on piano. An evening of breath-taking poetry, musical treasures and deep humanism.
